Lisbon 12U Allstars win their first Allstar game of 2009!
Lisbon 12U Allstars hosted the Fairfield Blue Devils at Goddard Field in Lisbon Falls on Wednesday July 22, 2009. The game was a rematch from last years Allstar Tournament.
The Blue Devils are a younger team this year, While the Lisbon Allstars are an older more seasoned team. The game had a lot of offense. Both teams were swinging the bat and recording numerious hits.
The game kept going back and forth. The lead exchanged hands every inning. There was strong defensive plays by each team. The teams appeared very evenly matched. It was a nail biter right down to the end.
Lisbon Found themselves down by 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. The coaches pulled the girls together and got them excited. The girls all cheered for each other and got behind each other to ralley for 5 runs and win the game 17-16.
Kaylin Hill and Jennifer Clifford put in a great performance for their first showing from the mound in the 2009 post season.
The Lisbon Allstars will be in Fairfield Saturday July 25th at 11am for their first game game in the Bulldog 2 triple elimination tournament. You won't watch to miss it.
Lisbon 12U Allstars finish Strong at Bulldog 2 Tournament
The 12U Allstars had a rough start at the Bulldog 2 Tournament but finished it out strong. They earned the praise and respect of th other teams by the time the tournament was done. The Winslow Orange Crush coach siad he was impressed by how well the Lisbon Girls played in their Final Game against Hermon. He and His team had been cheering for the Lisbon Girls who showed alot of fire and skill in their final outing of 2009.
